Overview

Treks in the Ganesh Himal region are designed to introduce you to a broad spectrum of life in different Nepalese communities and varieties of beautiful scenery. You may visit base camp of the Ganesh Himal where there are two lakes _ Black and white. Twin waterfalls _ ganga and Jamuna, bring joy to your heart. This trek is recommended by many trekkers though it is not as popular as Annapurna and Everest.

Visit this area in March and April, and you will see the mountainsides red with magnificent Rhododendron blooms Nepal 's national flower. Visit Gorkha, the birthplace of modern Nepal . This was the home of King Prithivi Naryan Shah, who fought many wars to unite the tiny kingdoms spread throughout the land now known as Nepal . His Palace can be seen on the top of the hill at Gorkha. This area is also the homeland of the original of Gorkha Warriors. The Ganesh Himal trek begins at Trishuli, a four hours drive from Kathmandu and ends at Gorkha, a six hour drive to return to Kathmandu .

Details Itinerary

DAY 01 ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU
Upon arrival at Tribhuwan International airport in Kathmandu meet our airport representative and transfer to the hotel .Overnight at Kathmandu .

Day 02: KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING
In the morning after breakfast full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu , the most popular Place in the kingdom was known as kantipur in earlier times. The tour highlights are the Living Goddess " Kumari" who appear on the balcony of her temple to greet her devotees; Kastamandap temple, the temple made out of single tree and name Kathmandu is derived from durbar square and drive to Soyambhunath which lies on top of hill is the Buddhist sanctuary said to be nearly 2000 years old. The hill itself is pleasant place overlooking the entire valley of Kathmandu . The all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha painted in prominent blue atop the dome are visible from long distance from around the Kathamandu city  

DAY 03: TRISHULI - SALANGKHU KHOLA
We drive to Trisuli in the morning and have lunch near the Trisuli Electricity dam. After lunch we walk for about 3 hours to Salangkhu Khola and camp.

DAY 04: SALANGKHU KHOLA - BALCHE VILLAGE
An easy walk and then a short climb takes us to Kalawale village for lunch. After lunch we proceed to the big Tamang village of Balche for our overnight camp.

DAY 05: BALCHE VILLAGE - GONGA
We take an easy walk from Balche village through a forest and camp with the peaks of Langtang Lirung and Gosainkunda in good view.

DAY 06: GONGA-SINGLA
We walk through rhododendron forests this day to camp at Singla or Rupchet. Rupchet is a cattle pasture and Singla is the pass. The Singla pass offers spectacular views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Baudha Peak , Himal Chuli, Machhapuchhre, South Annapurna and Annapurna II.

DAY 07: REST DAY AT SINGLA  (4,600 mt.)

DAY 08: SINGLA - PANGSANG
We walk up the Singla hill following small trails to Pangsung for our overnight camp. The view from here is spectacular.

DAY 09: PANGSANG - SHOMTHANG
We follow the ridge for our campsite of the day, Shomthang. This gives us a close up view of Ganesh Himal.

DAY 10:SHOMTHANG - JOGESHWARKUND LAKE
Now undertake a gradual climb for the day to reach our campsite at Jogeshwarkund Lake . (Sometimes Shomthang to Jogeshwarkund Lake is not possible due to army training).

DAY 11: REST DAY AT JOGESHWARKUNDA LAKE
People interested can do rock and peak climbing above 5000m. Today.

DAY 12: JOGESWARKUNDA LAKE - LINJU KHOLA
Today we start our descent to Linju Khola for our next camp.

DAY 13: LINJU KHOLA - SERHUNG VILLAGE
We walk down through pine and rhododendron forests to Shertung village and set up camp with good views of mountains all around. Shertung is a Tamang cultural village.

DAY 14: SERTUNG VILLAGE - LABA
A short flat trail and then a gradual descent passing through Borang village followed by crossing the Akhu Khola takes us to Laba, a big Tamang village.

DAY 15 LABA - MONGEYTHANTI
A slight climb to cross a hill and then descend through forests to camp at Mongeythanti.

DAY 16: MONGEYTHANTI - DUNCHET VILLAGE
A gradual walk down through forests with lunch by a stream brings us to our camp at Dumchet village.

DAY 17: DUNCHET VILLAGE - BUDIGANDAKI
We take a gradual walk today to Baseri and camp near the Budigandaki river.

DAY 18: BUDIGANDAKI - AROGHAT BAZAAR
We walk along the bank of Budhigandaki river and stop at Arughat Bazaar for the night. There are teashops and a police station here.

DAY 19: ARUGHAT BAZAAR - KHANCHOWK DANDA
We gradually climb the Khanchowk Danda crossing the Mukti khola and camp for the night.

DAY 20: KHANCHOWK DANDA - GORKHA
We cross a ridge today and walk gradually up hill to Gorkha, camping near the old palace.

DAY 21: Gorkha - KATHMANDU
We have a sight-seeing tour of Gorkha Palace , the palace of the King Prithivi Narayan Shah who united Nepal in 1881 AD and visit the Bazaar and then drive back to Kathmandu .

Day 22:-Gorkha - Kathmandu or Extend other activities.
Drive to Kathmandu and next day transfer from hotel to international airport to board onward journey flight or combine with other trip from Pokhara like white water rafting or safari tour at Chitwan Park . The cost would be extra for rafting & safari

Trip Cost includes:

•  Airport transfers on private vehicle
•  Three night's hotel in Kathmandu . Two nights on the arrival and one night after trekking in 2 star deluxe hotel including bed and breakfast plan
•  3 meals a day (breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) in local restaurants along the trekking trail.
•  Accommodation in guesthouses (Tea House) on trekking trail.
•  An experience government licensed holder English speaking trekking guide for the trekking with necessary porters their's food drink, insurance, all equipment, transportation, & all local taxes.
•  Wages of guide and other members.
•  Grand transportation by bus
•  National park & conservation fees, Govt. taxes and other applicable fees.

Trip cost does not include:

•  International Airfare.
•  Nepalese Visa fee and international airport departure tax.
•  Lunch & dinner while in Kathmandu US$ 10/15 per day.
•  Personal / Travel / Medical insurance and any other insurance for the members.
•  Expenses of personal nature viz. tips, laundry, phone calls, alcoholic beverages, bottled drinks etc.
