OVERVIEW

Mt. Manasalu with a height of 8,163m/26,781ft also known as Kampung located in the Mansiri Himal, west-central part of Nepal. The Name “Manaslu” a loanword from the Sanskrit language means “Mountain of the Spirit”. It is Mt. Kutung in Tibet. Although the expedition to Manasalu was done earlier several time, Trekking to the Manasalu region were opened only in 1991 with limited clusters in the group permit system as it is still a protected region. The climbing is technical more than Cho-Oyu and Shisha Pangma. Manasalu Base Camp lies at the height of

(4,700m. /15,419ft.). A drive from Kathmandu through Dhadingbesi or through Gorkha is the main entry point for Manasalu Peak. The total caravan route distance is approx. 120km either from Dhadingbesi or Gorkha and the climbing route length is 12.2km from the Manasalu Base Camp. The nearest human settlement from the Base Camp is in Samagaun just 1.9km away. The valley is linked to the long ridges and valley glaciers offering feasible approaches when viewed from afar. Mr. Gyaltsen Norbu Sherpa (Nepali Citizen) and Mr. ToshiImanishi (Japanese Citizen) were the first successful summiteer of Manasalu main peak on 9th May 1956.

1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m/4429ft)

Our Company representative will be standing in front of arrival gate to meets you at Tribhuban International Airport, Kathmandu holding a board of our company SNOWPAL TREK AND EXPEDITION Pvt. Ltd. along with your Name and transfer to your hotel.

Overnight in Hotel on BB Basis

2: Kathmandu sightseeing and final preparation for Manasalu Expedition.

After Breakfast first we check all the trekking equipments and if missing some of trekking gear, we can buy during the sightseeing. Full day sightseeing proceeds to the prominent UNESCO world heritage site to SyambhunathStupa the Buddhist sanctuary said to be nearly 2000 years old. The hill itself is pleasant place overlooking the entire valley of Kathmandu. The all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha painted in prominent blue atop the dome are visible from long distance from around the Kathmandu city. Then proceed to patan durbar squar also call Lalitpur the city full of fine arts. It cover the dozen of temples like Krishna Mandir, Kumbeswor temple, Golden temle. Next site proceed to Pashupatinath Temple the holiest Hindu Temple situated on the bank of sacred holy river Bagmati. Sightseeing continues to the BoudhanathStupa the biggest Stupa around inhabited by Tibetan Refugee since 1959AD. The day ends at Kathmandu Durbar Squar where can visti the Living GoddesKumari who appear on the balcony of her temple to greet her devotees, Kastamandap temple (Though now it is under reconstruction process after collapsed in earthquake in 25 April 2014), the temple made out of single tree and named Kathmandu as it was known as Kantipur in earlier times. Kathmandu Durbar Squar cover dozen of temple concluding Kumari temple, Hanuman Dhoka, Maizudewal, Taleju temple, Nautale Durbar, KaalBhairav, freak street and many more.

3: Kathmandu- BesiSahar (823m/2700ft), to Chamje (1,390m/4,560ft) and - Dharapani (1,860/6,200ft) drive by Jeep.

Drive 225km west to the trekking starting point. The road passes uptoDumer is the same way to Pokhara than From Dumre turn to north road into the Marsyangdi,Nadi Valley to BeshiShahar. Then continue to toSyange and on to the Jagat then Chamje to Bagarchhap. The road follows the Marsyangdi River having traveled upstream; we observe many changes in the people, architecture and vegetation. Houses are now built of rocks, the vegetation is less tropical and the culture more Tibetan-like. Overnight in Dharapani.

4: Dharapani(1,860/6,200ft) to Gho (25,60m/8,398ft) approx. 5-6 hrs. Treking.

5: : Gho (25,60m/8,398ft) to Bhimthang (3,720m/12,204ft) approx. 6hrs. Trekking,

6: Bhimthang (3,720m/12,204ft), Acclimatization day.

7: Bhimthang (3,720m/12,204ft), to Samdo (3,690m/12,106ft) via Larke Pass (5,106m/16,751ft).

8: Samdo (3,690m/12,106ft) to SamaGaun (3,530m/11,581ft).

9: SamaGaun (3,530m/11,581ft). to Manasalu Base Camp (4,700m/15,419ft).

10: Full Day at Manasalu Base Camp, Acclimatization and Preparing for climbing.

11 to 22: Climbing period. Manasalu base camp to Summit 8,163m and Base Camp.

23: Base Camp cleaning and Back to SamaGaun (3,530m/11,581ft

24: Samagaun (3,530m/11,581ft) to Namrung (2,660m/ 8,727ft) or to Kathmandu by Heli (if requested).

25: Namrung (2,660m/ 8,727ft) to Dyang (1,800m/5,905ft).

26: Dyang (1,800m/5,905ft) to Jagat (1,410m/4,625ft).

27: Jagat (1,410m/4,625ft) to MachhakholaGaun( 930m/3,051ft).

28: MachhakholaGaun( 930m/3,051ft) to Kathmandu (1,450m/4,757ft).

29: Return preparation and Shopping including some sightseeing, Leisure day.

Camping and equipment

All the base camp equipment such as stores tent, dining tents, kitchen tent, cooking utensils, chairs, tables, toilet tents and appropriate required.
Heater will be provided at base camp for heating the dining room.
Solar panel for light and battery charger.
Generator for the propose of back-up of lighting power and charging electronic tools.
Tents for above base camp in Camp 1, 2, 3 and camp 4 for clients and guests.
EPI cooking gas, stove will be provided in camp one, two and three for cooking food, boiling water.
Every climbing member will have an individual tent even in the base camp.
Gamow bags (Portable altitude chamber).
Satellite phone carrying by guide for communication and available for members with the cost of USD 3 per minute call.
4 Bottles (28L) of the Russian company Poisk Oxygen will be provided each members (Most of our climbers preferred to usePoisk brands of the Oxygen)
Latest model of mask and regulators
Any extra Emergency Oxygen, mask and regulator provided on requirement of guest with appropriate charge.
Common climbing equipment (necessary fixed and main rope, ice bars, ice screws, snow bar etc.)
