OVERVIEW

Mt. Manasalu with a height of 8,163m/26,781ft also known as Kampung located in the Mansiri Himal, west-central part of Nepal. The Name “Manaslu” a loanword from the Sanskrit language means “Mountain of the Spirit”. It is Mt. Kutung in Tibet. Although the expedition to Manasalu was done earlier several time, Trekking to the Manasalu region were opened only in 1991 with limited clusters in the group permit system as it is still a protected region. The climbing is technical more than Cho-Oyu and Shisha Pangma. Manasalu Base Camp lies at the height of

(4,700m. /15,419ft.). A drive from Kathmandu through Dhadingbesi or through Gorkha is the main entry point for Manasalu Peak. The total caravan route distance is approx. 120km either from Dhadingbesi or Gorkha and the climbing route length is 12.2km from the Manasalu Base Camp. The nearest human settlement from the Base Camp is in Samagaun just 1.9km away. The valley is linked to the long ridges and valley glaciers offering feasible approaches when viewed from afar. Mr. Gyaltsen Norbu Sherpa (Nepali Citizen) and Mr. ToshiImanishi (Japanese Citizen) were the first successful summiteer of Manasalu main peak on 9th May 1956.

Overnight in Hotel on BB Basis

After Breakfast first we check all the trekking equipments and if missing some of trekking gear, we can buy during the sightseeing. Full day sightseeing proceeds to the prominent UNESCO world heritage site to SyambhunathStupa the Buddhist sanctuary said to be nearly 2000 years old. The hill itself is pleasant place overlooking the entire valley of Kathmandu. The all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha painted in prominent blue atop the dome are visible from long distance from around the Kathmandu city. Then proceed to patan durbar squar also call Lalitpur the city full of fine arts. It cover the dozen of temples like Krishna Mandir, Kumbeswor temple, Golden temle. Next site proceed to Pashupatinath Temple the holiest Hindu Temple situated on the bank of sacred holy river Bagmati. Sightseeing continues to the BoudhanathStupa the biggest Stupa around inhabited by Tibetan Refugee since 1959AD. The day ends at Kathmandu Durbar Squar where can visti the Living GoddesKumari who appear on the balcony of her temple to greet her devotees, Kastamandap temple (Though now it is under reconstruction process after collapsed in earthquake in 25 April 2014), the temple made out of single tree and named Kathmandu as it was known as Kantipur in earlier times. Kathmandu Durbar Squar cover dozen of temple concluding Kumari temple, Hanuman Dhoka, Maizudewal, Taleju temple, Nautale Durbar, KaalBhairav, freak street and many more.

Drive 225km west to the trekking starting point. The road passes uptoDumer is the same way to Pokhara than From Dumre turn to north road into the Marsyangdi,Nadi Valley to BeshiShahar. Then continue to toSyange and on to the Jagat then Chamje to Bagarchhap. The road follows the Marsyangdi River having traveled upstream; we observe many changes in the people, architecture and vegetation. Houses are now built of rocks, the vegetation is less tropical and the culture more Tibetan-like. Overnight in Dharapani.
