Essential Trek Info

Best Season

  • Spring (March–May) & Autumn (Sept–Nov): Ideal seasons with clear skies, stable weather, and great visibility.
  • Monsoon: Not recommended due to landslides.
  • Winter: Possible but very cold; high passes may be snow-covered.

Trek Difficulty

  • Moderate to challenging.
  • High altitude trekking with several days above 3,000m and up to 5,416m (Thorong La Pass).
  • Daily walking: 5–7 hours on varied terrain.
  • Acclimatization days included (especially in Manang).
  • Prior high-altitude experience is beneficial.

Altitude Sickness

Common symptoms:

  • Headache, nausea, fatigue, dizziness.

To prevent:

  • Stay hydrated (3–4L/day), eat well, walk slowly.

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Take some time to relax after your flight and recover from any jet lag. In the evening, you can explore the nearby Thamel area for local eateries and shops.

Begin your day with a briefing on the upcoming trek by an experienced guide. Afterwards, visit Kathmandu’s most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites — including the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, the serene Boudhanath Stupa, and the Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). This day is both informative and immersive, giving you a glimpse into Nepalese history and spirituality.

Start early for a long but scenic drive towards Dharapani via Besisahar. The journey offers mesmerizing views of Nepal’s countryside, with rivers, waterfalls, and terraced fields lining the route. As the roads turn rugged near the end, you’ll get your first taste of the mountains ahead.

Today marks the beginning of your actual trekking. Walk through dense pine forests and cross several suspension bridges over roaring rivers. Pass through beautiful villages like Bagarchhap and Danaque before reaching Chame, the headquarters of the Manang district, surrounded by snow-capped peaks.

• Distance: 13.7km/8.5 miles

The trail ascends gradually as you walk through narrow river valleys. Witness stunning rock faces and panoramic views of Annapurna II. You’ll pass apple orchards and Mani  walls before arriving in Pisang, a village split into upper and lower sections with spectacular mountain backdrops.

• Distance: 22km / 8.5miles

A rewarding day of trekking as you move higher in altitude. Follow a trail lined with prayer wheels and stupas while enjoying magnificent views of the Annapurna range. After passing Braga village and its ancient monastery, you reach Manang, a bustling mountain town with bakeries and shops.

Take a break from ascending to allow your body to adjust to the altitude. Go on a short
acclimatization hike to Gangapurna Lake or the Manang Viewpoint, offering sweeping views of the valley and glaciers. Use the rest of the day to explore the town or rest.

Opption in Manag Explore day: 

Today is acclimatization day, which is best spent being active and climbing to higher elevations for views but returning to lower altitudes to sleep. Manang itself is in a spectacular location with many attractions. There are lakes, caves, moraine- hills, monasteries or local activities in town.

Optional activities in Manag you may do on Acclimatize day. 

Option One: Visit Monastries, Walk around village, wash/clean/dry your stuff, read book, relax the day.

 

Option Two: Hike about 2 hour to Lake Gangapurna and Return.

 

Option Three: Hike about 1080m/3,543ft up to Ice lake (4620m/15, 157ft) and Return a full day trip. There are two lake together in 20 minute walking distance. Real Ice lake is more up and and bigger than first one. It takes 5-6 hrs to complete the course about 10-16 kilometer/ 6-10 miles.

 

Option Four: Chongkor hill Manag View point and back about three hour.

 

Option Five: Visit Milarepa (famouse Tibetan Buddhist monk of 11th Century) cave and Return.

Leave the main Annapurna Trail and head towards Tilicho Valley. The trail is narrow and traverses across landslide-prone zones. You’ll walk along ridgelines with views of wild alpine terrain and glacier streams before reaching Tilicho Base Camp.

• Altitude – (Tilicho Lake): 4,919 m / 16,138 ft ,(Shree Kharka): 4,050 m / 13,287 ft)

• Distance: 17km/10.5miles.

Start early to visit the mesmerizing Tilicho Lake, one of the world’s highest alpine lakes, surrounded by towering snow peaks. After soaking in its beauty, return to Base Camp and then continue your descent to Shree Kharka for the night.

Note: The trek from Tilicho Base Camp to Tilicho Lake covers approximately 11 kilometers and typically takes about 5 to 6 hours to complete, depending trekkers conditions and  acclimatization. The trail ascends steadily through a rugged, high-altitude alpine landscape, often with snow patches especially near the lake depends on season. Tilicho Lake, situated at an altitude of 4,919 meters, is one of the highest lakes in the world and offers awe-inspiring views of surrounding peaks like Tilicho Peak and the Grand Barrier of Majestic Himalaya. After spending some time at the lake, trekkers usually descend the same way and continue onward to Shree Kharka after late Breakfast. Including the return leg, the total trekking distance for the day is around 17 km/10.5miles and can take 8 to 9 hours in total. It is Great acclimatization rehearsal for the Throng La (5,416 meter/ 17,769 ft) and early departure in the morning are essential for a safe and rewarding journey.

• Distance: 10.8km/ 6.6miles.

Follow a descending trail to join the main Annapurna Circuit again, then trek gradually upwards through yak pastures and stone- walled fields until you reach Letdar, a small settlement surrounded by alpine landscapes.

• Distance: 15.8km/9.8miles

Today’s trek is shorter but steeper. Climb gradually up through high-altitude terrain with breathtaking views all around. Reach Thorong High Camp, your launching point for tomorrow’s challenging pass crossing.

  • Altitude (Muktinath): 3,800 m / 12,467 ft
    Distance: High camp to Throng top (3.3km/2miles), Throng top to Muktinath (12.7km/8miles) Total 16km/10miles. Throng top to Muktinath descend approximately 1615m/5,300ft).
  • Start before sunrise for the strenuous climb up to Thorong La Pass — the highest point of the trek. Take in the stunning Himalayan panorama before descending steeply to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.

• Distance: 195km/121miles via Jomsom.

After breakfast, take a jeep drive along the Kali Gandaki Valley to Pokhara. Upon arrival, relax by the lake or take a short sightseeing trip around Pokhara’s landmarks like Davis Falls and Phewa Lake.
