OVERVIEW

Ama Dablam Base Camp 4,600m/15,091ft is very wide like a football ground. The height of Mt. Ama Dablam is just (6,812m/22,349ft) which is comparatively not very high peak surrounding 8000drs peaks  Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Lhotse-Shar (8,382m), Cho-Yu (8,201m) in Khumbu valley however Ama Dablam is one of the most awesome fascinating  mountain.  Ama Dablam Base Camp 4,600m/15,091ft is an amazing short trekking destination in Everest Region of Nepal. It requires 10 days’ time in total to explore alpine nature in high elevation and Sherpa culture along with Buddhist monasteries together. Ama Dablam Base Camp is a fine day tour excursion from Pangboche offering those have limited time less than 2 weeks. The path start from Pangboche descending to cross Imja Khola than the path through Yak meadows on the plateau of Cholungche. The the zigzags trail up to the Chorten col stands with prayer flags cluster offering the view of Dingboche just below of Mt. Itinerary of Ama Dablam Base Camp 12 days

Our Company representative will be standing in front of arrival gate to meets you at Tribhuban International Airport, Kathmandu holding a board of our company SNOWPAL TREK AND EXPEDITION Pvt. Ltd. along with your Name and transfer to your hotel.

 Overnight in hotel on BB Basis

After Breakfast full day sightseeing proceeds to world heritage site to Syambhunath Stupa The Buddhist sanctuary said to be nearly 2000 years old. The hill itself is pleasant place overlooking the entire valley of Kathmandu. The all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha painted in prominent blue atop the dome are visible from long distance from around the Kathmandu city. Then proceed to patan durbar squar also call Lalitpur the city full of fine arts. It covers the dozens of temples like Krishna Mandir, Kumbeswor temple, Golden temle. Next site proceeds to Pashupatinath Temple the holiest Hindu Temple situated on the bank of sacred holy river Bagmati. Sightseeing continues to the Boudhanath Stupa the biggest Stupa around inhabited by Tibetan Refugee since 1959AD. The day ends at Kathmandu Durbar Squar where can visti the Living Goddes Kumari who appear on the balcony of her temple to greet her devotees, Kastamandap temple (Though now it is under reconstruction process after collapsed in earthquake in 25 April 2014), the temple made out of single tree and named Kathmandu as it was known as Kantipur in earlier times. Kathmandu Durbar Squar cover dozens of temples concluding Kumari temple, Hanuman Dhoka, Maizu dewal, Taleju temple, Nautale Durbar, Kaal Bhairav, freak street and many more. Overnight in hotel on BB basis.

Breakfast served in the early morning and drive to Kathmandu airport for your domestic flight to Lukla. It’s takes approximately 28 minutes. There’ll be time to explore the village whilst the Sherpa crew sort and load equipment. From Lukla we descend on a wide trail northwest to the village of Chomlung in the Dudh Kosi valley. The valley radiates energy through beautiful pine and rhododendron forest. The walking is easy and we follow the river’s course, passing through the village of Ghat. Our destination is the small village of Phakding.

After the breakfast, we start our journey to Namche Bazaar, from Phakding we head up valley on a busy trail. Continue along beside the Dudh Kosi amongst beautiful alpine scenery, through the fragrant blue pine and fir forest, glimpsing spectacular views of Kusum Kangru (6369m) and Thanserku (6608m) along the way. Our lunch spot in Monjo, Leaving Monjo, we again cross the Dudh Kosi, to the western bank at Jorsale prior to trekking through the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park. Continuing upstream along the banks to the confluence of the Bhote Kosi and Dudh Kosi, it is here we begin our first sustained ascent to Namche Bazaar after crossing the large suspension bridge. Walking at a slow pace, we have a fantastic photographic opportunities as the peaks of Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8511m), Nuptse (7879m), Ama Dablam (6856m) and Taweche (6542m) come into view for the first time. Climbing again, the path takes us through pine trees to reach the distinctive horse- shoe shaped bowl containing the village of Namche Bazaar. Stay in the heart of the village, with the afternoon free to bargain in the shops for “Tibeta artifacts, relax over a cup of tea and talk with our experienced Trekking guides and simply marvel at the beautiful scenery.

Full day to acclimatize Exploring Namche and Sherpa culture. Wake up early in the morning and climb to the ridge above Namche will be rewarded with the stunning sunrise over the panorama of the Khumbu peaks. Namche is famous for its local market or bazaar. Each week, Sherpas from the surrounding villages come to buy food and to socialize. Any food not grown locally, such as rice, corn and some vegetables is brought in from the lowland village, which can be up to a 6-10 day walk from Jiri. Spend the morning exploring this colorful and lovely spectacle. Perhaps walk along the Thame Valley in the afternoon or visit the National Park Headquarters to see the interesting displays of Sherpa lifestyle and culture, mountaineering in the park, flora and fauna.

After Breakfst we trek out of the village bowl and follow a small trail high above the Dudh Kosi River, where the views are incredible, behind to the west, the ridge of Nupla and Kwangde Himal (6194m), across the valley to the south, the towering ice- fluted walls of Thamserku (6623m), and Everest looms above ridge, a black triangular rock, “Sagarmatha.” On a small ridge across the valley, the monastery of Thyangboche can be seen, an against the gigantic mountain background. Ascending to the way to Sanasa, where we will have lunch and slightly up to Phortse Thanga better idea those have short time period for acclimatization instead of whole day just hanging in Namche. Gradually ascending to Mong-La danda (3,978m) from Sanasa where  a beautiful Chorten and couple of tea houses available, you may rest for a while refreshing with tea and biscuit along with the spectacular view of Mt.Amadablam and various mountain. Then we descend to Phortse Thanga where we stay for the night.

As soon we start the day after breakfast meet two trails. The left side path to go Gokyo lake and the right hand side trail lead to Phortse village. As our ultimate destination is Dablam Base Camp lead us left hand side with a short simple walk to cross the Dudh Koshi River. With pleasant walk up through juniper, rhododendron and pine timberland forest, we reach at Phortse town on (3,810m) with the giant perspective view of Mt. Cho-Yu (8,201m), Thamserku (6,623m), Kwangde (6,090m), Machhermo crest (6,237m) Khimbu yul Lha (5,761m) including Tengboche Monastry. Than the trail move up roughly stroll to upper Pangboche may encounter mammals as Yaks, Himalayan thar, fowl and flying falcon. In Upper Pangboche you will visit a very old Buddhist monasteries which is the main deity of the local community of Sherpa people..

This is a day tour from Pangboche to Ama Dablam Base Camp starting the trail down to Imaja Knola and move up to Cholungche Kharka. The step by step moving up to our trip destination the massive Mt. Ama Damlam Base Camp with the elevation of 4,600m, En route the view of Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), Mt. Lhotse Shar (8,382m), Mt. Nuptse (7,879m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,856m), Mt. Pumari (7,165m), Mt. Kangtenga (6,783m), Mt. Kukum Kangaru (6,367m), Mt. Cholatse (6, 440m), Mt. Tabuche Crest (6,495m), Mt. Ombigaichan (6,340m), Mt. Thamserku (6,623m), Mt. Kwangde Ri (6,011m), Amphu Gyabjen (5,630m), Khumbu yul Lha (5,761m). Start the day after breakfast trek to Tengboche. We visit a great monastery at Tengboche than we follow a downhill trail through a forest of juniper, rhododendron and go down to Phukitenga, you continue on to cross the DudhKosi for a steep descent to Trashinga. After lunch at Shanasa you make your way back to Namche Bazaar. Following a steep descent passing the BhoteKosi, crossing the river, follow the bank to Jorsale, then to Monjo.

This morning you will depart from Namche downhill walk to Manjo and continue your descent along the DudhKosi, before making a final ascent to reach the Lukla plateau by late-afternoon. On arrival in Lukla you will have time to relax and celebrate the completion of your trek.

This morning you will be transferred to Lukla Airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. Rest of the day is leisure day in Kathmandu. In the evening, we will have the farewell Dinner together in an authentic Nepali cuisine restaurant with Nepali ethnic group dance.

Overnight in a Boutique hotel.

Meal: Farewell Dinner and Breakfast.

Transfer from hotel to international airport to board onward journey flight. Or combine with other trip like Sightseeing in UNESCO world heritage site around Kathmandu valley or join the day trip for white water rafting or safari tour at Chitwan Park or any other activities in your favor.  The cost of extended activities will be extra.

The instruction for Trekking equipment check list is a guide line for our valuable clients. This following materials mostly apply from 3,000m to 5,500m Himalayan Base Camp to more strenuous trip to do high passes like three passes trekking, Apulapcha pass trekking, Throng-La pass trekking. Even we always recommend light hiking and trekking, keep in in mind all of our trekkers and hikers supported with luggage store allowing to bring suitcase which will be waiting you at our hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara during your trekking.  The “Advanced Trekking equipment check list” Will be provided on your further corresponding for challenging high passes trekking. Our porters carry the luggage to make your travel light carrying just a day pack containing the snacks, a camera, water bottle, and a light jacket or fleece. When we you will stay at the lodge, All of the food, accommodation and the bedding is provided but we suggest to carry your own sleeping bag to avoid the chill at night and change of clothes, personal hygiene. Most travelers prefer to check a suitcase for the flight and use their rucksack and a small daypack for the trekking.

While we have suggested some of specific recommendations below, your own experience, personal preferences, and comfort oneself work ultimately the best roll which is the most important factor depending on you what to bring for the trip.

 Heads.

  1. Warm and light woolen hat which may covers your ears.
  2. Scarf or neck sleeve.
  3. Face mask.
  4. Bandana or head scarf, useful for dusty conditions.
  5. Sun hat.
  6. Balaclava
  7. Ball cap or brimmed sun cap.
  8. Glacier Sunglass with side shields.

 Upper body.

 Clothing should be kept in large plastic bags or any waterproof stuff to keep it dry.

  1. Couple of T-shirts full sleeve is better.
  2. Fleece pullovers, medium weight.
  3. Fleece jacket.
  4. Best quality down jacket for evening and before sleep with extra lightweight.
  5. Gore-Tex Jacket.
  6. Full sleeve high neck.

Lower body.

  1. Pairs of underwear.
  2. Walking trousers for trekking.
  3. Pair of light weight thermal bottoms.
  4. Fleece trousers
  5. A Gore-Tex trousers Waterproof /breathable might be better extra use.

Trekking boots and foot wear:

Please choose the shoes carefully being own prime consideration. Boots can be low-cut or mid-ankle, but we recommend sturdy sole such as Sportiva, Gore-Tex or any one which should be very comfortable to walk

 

  1. One pair leather or synthetic Sportiva or (Gore-Tex) hiking boots with good ankle support.
  2. One pair cross- trainers, running shoes and /or sandals for Kathmandu and in camp.
  3. Two pair’s warm and heavy poly or wool socks.
  4. Two pairs of liner socks. Polypropylene or wool.
  5. Two pairs lightweight trekking socks, poly or wool.

 

Trekking Rucksack and Sleeping bag:

Your sleeping bags should be kept dry using waterproof stuff sacks, bin-liners or large plastic bags. Sleeping bag (good to –10 to -20 degree) is better.

2-3 pieces of water proof empty sacks to keep your goods warm and dry.

Personal Hygiene/Toiletries

Personal hygiene.

  1. Personal hygiene supplies.
  2. A tubes lip sun cream, 1 large tube skin sun cream (min. factor 30).
  3. One toothpaste /brush set.
  4. One bar soap or hand sanitizer gel/ 1 small synthetic towel.
  5. Hand wipes.

 

First-Aid Kit

Medical supplies. The leaders/Guide will have extensive first- aid kits

Note. Small personal first- aid kit. (Simple and light) Aspirin, first- aid tape, plasters (Band-Aids), personal medications, etc. The leaders will have extensive first- aid kits.

Personal prescription medications. Please let your leader/Guide to know about any medical issues during the trekking if you feel any problem.

Medications are inexpensive and readily available in Kathmandu with no doctor’s prescription if you prefer to check up your health before to start the trekking.

  1. One skin blister repair kit.
  2. One small bottle of anti- diarrhea pills (Imodium).
  3. One small bottle of anti- headache pills.
  4. One small bottle cough and /or cold medicine.
  5. One course antibiotics for stomach infection, available locally at chemist shop or pharmacy with no doctor’s prescription.
  6. One small bottle anti- altitude sickness pills. Diamox. For more about this medication. Regarding the altitude sickness Please consult with guide.
  7. Do not bring sleeping pills. They are a respiratory depressant non compatible with high altitude physiology.
  8. Extra prescription glasses / contact lens. Contact lens wearers, please bring glasses in case of emergency.
  9. Oximeter to check the saturation in blood.
  10. Mint inhaler
  11. One small bottle of water purification tablets or water filter.
