Also known as “Annapurna Circuit” trek this 12- days trek program takes you right round the great Annapurna massif visiting a Tibet – like country on the northern slopes of the Himalaya and then into the dramatic world deepest gorge of Kali Gandaki. Early in the morning drive from Kathmandu, which is about 5 hours to Beshisahar, then continuous drive leads northwest into Marsyangdi river valley.
The Manang valley which is surrounded on all sides by major Himalayan peaks such as Annapurna II (7,937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Gangapurna (7455m), Glacier Dome (7193m) and Tilicho peak (7134m). The people of Manang valley are similar to Tibetans in culture and in dress though their historic origins are unknown. They are known for their shrewd business instincts.
The Himalayan rain shadow make effect is very apparent as lush vegetation, Alpine forest of the upper Marsyangdi valley gives way to fields of barley buckwheat and potatoes in Manang and Khangsar.
The trail leads higher to cross Thorung La (5416m), the mountain pass that leads into a sharp descent to the spectacular Kali Gandaki gorge. Following the route along the banks of Kali Gandaki passes through spectacular landscape and contrasting villages of ethnic mixes religions and climate, thus making the descent an interesting trekking course.

After Breakfast first we check all the trekking equipments and if missing some of trekking gear, we can buy during the sightseeing. Full day sightseeing proceeds to the prominent UNESCO world heritage site to Syambhunath Stupa the Buddhist sanctuary said to be nearly 2000 years old. The hill itself is pleasant place overlooking the entire valley of Kathmandu. The all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha painted in prominent blue atop the dome are visible from long distance from around the Kathmandu city. Then proceed to patan durbar squar also call Lalitpur the city full of fine arts. It covers the dozens of temples like Krishna Mandir, Kumbeswor temple, Golden temle. Next site proceed to Pashupatinath Temple the holiest Hindu Temple situated on the bank of sacred holy river Bagmati. Sightseeing continues to the Boudhanath Stupa the biggest Stupa around inhabited by Tibetan Refugee since 1959AD. The day ends at Kathmandu Durbar Squar where can visti the Living Goddes Kumari who appear on the balcony of her temple to greet her devotees, Kastamandap temple (Though now it is under reconstruction process after collapsed in earthquake in 25 April 2014), the temple made out of single tree and named Kathmandu as it was known as Kantipur in earlier times. Kathmandu Durbar Squar cover dozen of temple concluding Kumari temple, Hanuman Dhoka, Maizu dewal, Taleju temple, Nautale Durbar, Kaal Bhairav, freak street and many more.

Drive 200km west to the trekking starting point. The road passes upto Dumer is the same way to Pokhara from Dumre turn to north road into the Marsyangdi Nadi Valley to Beshi Shahar. Then continue to to Syange and on to the Jagat then Chamje to Bagarchhap. The road followsthe Marsyangdi River having traveled upstream, we observe many changes in the people, architecture and vegetation. Houses are now built of rocks, the vegetation is less tropical and the culture more Tibetan-like. Overnight in Bagarchhap.
Leaving Chame, the gorge becomes more impressive. We cross into the district of Manang and see more Bhotia people. These are primarily agro- pastoralists and the real trans- Himalayan traders of the region. The route climbs gradually to the town of Bagarchap. The houses here have flat roofs, indicating that there is less rainfall here than the south. There is a temple here worth visiting, and views of the Annapurnas and the Lamjung Himal.

Leaving Bagarchap, We pass a few small settlements along the route and Chame. Chame is a government town and district centre for Manang. The valley becomes narrow and picturesque. The vegetation is temperate, broad – leaved forest. There are interesting religious buildings and hot springs.We continue in an unrelenting narrow valley of pine, hemlock and cypress forest. The trail through a serene forest leads to Pisang. This arid region is in the rain shadow of the Himalaya. The men here are traders- and may sell or trade almost anything and part – time farmers and the women are full – time farmers.

There are 2 routes from here, a low road and a high road, the latter taking longer but affording outstanding views of the Annapurna Himal and few trekkers. Both routes converge in the large and interesting village of Braga, which is the seat of the oldest monastery in the area. The gomba is about 900 years old and belongs to the Karayupa sect of Tibetan Buddhism and contains some unique works of art. Manag is 30 minutes from here.

Today is acclimatization day, which is best spent being active and climbing to higher elevations for views but returning to lower altitudes to sleep. Manang itself is in a spectacular location with many attractions. There are lakes, caves, moraine- hills, monasteries or local activities in town.

The trail now leaves the river valley and climbs steadily over lateral moraine. The pass, marked by a large cairn, is the highest point of our trekThorung La (5,416m/17,769ft). We descend in that direction for the village of Muktinath, located in a poplar grove. It is a sacred shrine and pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists.

From Muktinath to Jomsom, we see people from Mustang, a restricted area to the north, who come to sell handicrafts to pilgrims. Among their merchandise is the highly- revered mollusk fossil called shaligram. We will pass some ancient caves and see the impressive White Mountain that is the Dhaulagiri. We also transit at the significant town of Kagbeni, which is at a junction of 2 rivers and the north- south and east – west trading routes.

Jomsom is located on the bank of Kaligandaki river follows from “Tibetan plateau”. It is very windy area through deepest Kaligandaki George. Couple of airlines offered regular flights from Pokhara-Jomsom-Pokhara early in the morning because of strong wind in day time. Just 23 minutes flight cross valley of the Mt.Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Mt. Annapurna (8091m). Flight between two 8000drs meter high might be an extra ordinary life time experience. Scenery of the spectacular vista of the Himalaya is the outstanding of this flight.
We can do half day sightseeing in Pokhara. Explore the second largest city of Nepal dominated by the peaks of Annapurna range. Pokhara (931m/3,054ft), is only fifty kilometers from Annapurna (8,091 meters) clearly seen from the valley. The prominent peaks from east to west are Annapurna South (7,219m), Varaha Shikhar (7,647m.) Annapurna I (8,091m.), Khangsar Kang (7,485 m), Tarke Kang (7, 193m) Gangapurna (7,455), Annapurna III (7,555m), Machhapuchhre (6,997m), Annapurna IV (7,525m), Annapurna II (7,937m) and Lamjung Himal (6,983m). In addition to these Dhaulagiri I can be seen to the north- west and Manaslu and Himalchuli to the north –east.

It take a 30-minute flight to return back to Kathmandu. Different Air Company operating several flights to Kathmandu daily. Walking trip start today’s trail will lead you out of Marsayangdi valley as you leave behind the trees and enter a rather sparsely vegetated area. The trail will pass through Tanki Manang village and continue uphill alongside Thorung Khola. You will cross a long Mani wall and walk through meadows with grazing yaks to arrive at the temporary yak herders’ settlement in Yak Kharka. You will have a beautiful vista of the surrounding mountains like Tilicho Peak (7134m), Khatungkang (6484m), Chulu (6584m), and so on from Yak Kharka.
