OVERVIEW

Any adventure loving person who Prefer longer trekking can do this trekking. First part of the trekking to the Apulaptsa pass start from the south of Everest and to the north – east of the airstrip at Lukla, standing prominently between the wildernesses valleys of Hinku and Hongu. This Trekking is considered the “Highest pass” and does not require any excellent mountaineering experience but requires a good mountain walking skill. The world’s 14, 8,000m mountains are visible in the near distance during this trekking. Its high-altitude passes must be respected, however, and acclimatization must be done at the recommended place ideally to make it a life time memorable trekking. To cross the Amphu Laptsa (5,845m) pass is the most adventure of this trip.

Normally every trip cost depends on the following facts:

Itinerary of Everest BC via Apulaptsa pass 21 Days

I will be standing in front of arrival gate to meets you at Tribhuban International Airport, Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.

Overnight in Katmandu

Meal: welcome Dinner in Authenticate Restaurant.

After breakfast visit to Department of Ministry of Tourism for orientation briefing class for climbing and expedition rule/regulation of Nepal and return to hotel for all type of equipments details review/checking, if missing bits of clothing and equipments or any type of needs goods, we will go for last shopping. If still time remaining we may go someplace for sightseeing.

Breakfast served in the early morning and drive to Kathmandu airport for your domestic flight to Lukla. It’s takes approximately 25 minutes. Flight to Lukla is one of the astonishing flights allows you to have close and breathtaking views of various sceneries and Himalayan ranges of Nepal. Lukla is as one of the awesome beautiful airport situated in the lap of Himalayas. There’ll be time to explore the village whilst the Sherpa crew sort and load equipment at Lukla. We start the trek with beautiful scenery radiates energy through beautiful pine and rhododendron forest. The walking is moderate. Our destination is the small village of Chantunga.

 

Overnight in Chatunga at Lodge (3020m)

We follow our trail and continue walking until we cross Kalo Himal ridge. Kalo Himal Ridge serarates Khumbu valley from Hunku Valley. Then we make our way to Zatrawa La pass (4610m) and down walk to Thuli Kharka.

Half-day walk, and virtually all downhill, the path descends to a fine vantage point of the Hinku Valley with spectacular view of the south face of Mera Peak. Entering the forest once again, the trail drops steeply down into Hinku Valley. The forests of the Hinku valley are a delight to walk through, full of the tall Himalayan pine and rhododendron trees. We head uo the Hunku valley and there are stunning views of Peak 43 and Kusum Khangaru.

Overnight in Kothe at Lodge (3691m)

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

A pleasant day and we will enjoy a fantastic view of south face of Mera Peak throughout the day along with surrounding mountain. A simple settlement pleasant to spend Overnight here.

Overnight in Thangnak at Lodge (4356m)

Climb through the moraines of Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers to reach Khare.  From here the excellent view of  huge north face of Mera and the peak of the Hinku Shar Glacier dominating. Mera La clearly can be seen just above our camp.

We need to be acclimatized at Khare (5045m) where good food and bakery also available. Washing, bathing and walking around.

We have to follow a steep trail paved with boulders to reach Mera high camp. The trai is some time rockey and sometime Snowy can be difficult and hazardous at any time. The excellent panorama views of hundreds of mountains will delight.

From Kongme Dingma up into the upper yeks pastures of this incredible remote valley. The terrain is remarkably beginning into the epicenter of the highest group of the mountains in the world. The valley offers a beautiful view of Jugal Himal range, Rolwaling range, Kanchenjunga and Makalu Himalaya ranges.

 

Overnight in Seto Pokhari (5035m) in a tended Camp

Today we are in the part of the most remote area of the Himalaya and rarely see any trekkers en-route except if it is a very hight tourist season. We proceed from Setopokhari ahead through several lakes that occupy the upper Hinku Basin. After passing Hunku Pokhari, out trail is next to the magnificent Hinku Glacier. We continue further with another lakes close by to our trail.

 

Overnight in Amphu Base Camp (5527m) in a tended Camp

we cross the Amphu Laptsa La pass (5845m) then walk crossing  the Amphu Laptsa glacier. ImjeGlacier, Lsotse Shar Glacier are nearby via half circles the Imja Tsho lake to join the mail trail of Island peak. More further ahead, wa are also in the vicinity of the Ama Dablam Glacier before reaching Chukkung. After few days in tended camp we arrive in Ckukkung to spend the night in a nice lodge with hot shower.

Early in the morning after breakfast we start to conquest the highest pass of Kongma La. To enjoy the remoteness of the area and absolute nature, we need to carry a fresh packed lunch, plenty of water along with some nuts, candy and chocolates. Either over the moraine of the Nuptse glacier climb over the northwest of Chukkung, we follow a high trail above the Niyang Khola, Guide will select the route on your choice. Walking on the trail, the view of Amphu Lapchha and valley of Island peak including magnificent of surrounding mountain helps you to reduce your tiredness. Gradually we enter a wide basin dotted with small frezen lake, the trail rises over loose scree gaining the Longma La after approximately 5 hour we leave the Chukkung. On the top of Kongma la, the prayer buddhist flags as a marks of the pass. Panoramic view of Mountain with Icy lake and the Khumbu glacier, the final descent is the most difficult stage of the trek today. Finally turning to the north through moraine of Khumbu glacier, today’s final destination Lobuche waiting there to welcome you.

Wonderful and rewarding day, first final destination of this trip to Everest Base Camp set out on the opposite the dreaded icefall-the most dangerous section of the Everest Summit. Rocky trail is in busy in April/May with porters carrying in supplies and the site is a riot of colorful tents perched on the ice. Everest Base Camp is the main camp for mountaineers and Trekkers feel very happy to be in Everest Base Camp as it makes a Life time memories for the adventure fulfillment. Retrace back from Everest Base Camp to Gorak Shep.

Early in the morning climb up to Kalapattar the second final destination of this trip to view sunrise awakening of the Himalayan chain along with 3600 Degree Outstanding spectacular view of numerous sky towering mountains including Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt.Lhotse Shar (8382m), Mt.Cho Oyu (8201m), Mt. Pumari (7165m), Mt. Khumbtse (6639m), Mt. Numptse (7864m), Mt. Amadablam (6814m), Mt.Changtse (7550m), Mt.Cholatse6335m), and many more other peaks that crowd the horizon the all directions. Down back to Grak Shep for breakfast and then retrace to Lobuche continuing south on the Everest-Lukla trail to Pheriche for a lower and warmer night.

 

Overnight in Pherice at Lodge

After descending from ultimate descent, today is an easier walk to the lower altitudes. We follow the wide alpine valley Continue down to Orsho, then on through Lower Pangboche and down to Deboche, reaching our lodge at Thyangboche in the afternoon. Thyangboche is set in a beautiful meadow, high on a ridge surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks. A peaceful, tranquil position, surely one of the wonders of the world and the Thyangboche Monastery is spectacularly situated. The monastery dominated by the gompa with its prayer flags and mani stones was founded in 1916 as a meditation center.

No sooner we start the day, walk down steeply to Funkitenga then again ascend Sanasa, Khumjung, Syangboche and arrive Namche Bazar  more westernized town and also called Gate way of Khumbu and Everest Region. Overnight in Namche Bazar.

 

Overnight in Namche (3440m) in a Lodge

We descend to Manjo and the trail through a forest of juniper, rhododendron. Following a steep descent passing the Bhote Kosi, crossing the river, follow the bank to Jorsale, then to Monjo. As soon we will depart Monjo and continue your descent along the Dudh Kosi, before making a final ascent to reach the Lukla plateau by mid afternoon.

On arrival in Lukla you will have time to relax and celebrate the completion of your trek.

The instruction for Trekking equipment check list is a guide line for our valuable clients. This following materials mostly apply from 3,000m to 5,500m Himalayan Base Camp to more strenuous trip to do high passes like three passes trekking, Apulapcha pass trekking, Throng-La pass trekking. Even we always recommend light hiking and trekking, keep in in mind all of our trekkers and hikers supported with luggage store allowing to bring suitcase which will be waiting you at our hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara during your trekking.  The “Advanced Trekking equipment check list” Will be provided on your further corresponding for challenging high passes trekking. Our porters carry the luggage to make your travel light carrying just a day pack containing the snacks, a camera, water bottle, and a light jacket or fleece. When we you will stay at the lodge, All of the food, accommodation and the bedding is provided but we suggest to carry your own sleeping bag to avoid the chill at night and change of clothes, personal hygiene. Most travelers prefer to check a suitcase for the flight and use their rucksack and a small daypack for the trekking.

While we have suggested some of specific recommendations below, your own experience, personal preferences, and comfort oneself work ultimately the best roll which is the most important factor depending on you what to bring for the trip.

 Heads.

  1. Warm and light woolen hat which may covers your ears.
  2. Scarf or neck sleeve.
  3. Face mask.
  4. Bandana or head scarf, useful for dusty conditions.
  5. Sun hat.
  6. Balaclava
  7. Ball cap or brimmed sun cap.
  8. Glacier Sunglass with side shields.

 Upper body.

 Clothing should be kept in large plastic bags or any waterproof stuff to keep it dry.

  1. Couple of T-shirts full sleeve is better.
  2. Fleece pullovers, medium weight.
  3. Fleece jacket.
  4. Best quality down jacket for evening and before sleep with extra lightweight.
  5. Gore-Tex Jacket.
  6. Full sleeve high neck.

Lower body.

  1. Pairs of underwear.
  2. Walking trousers for trekking.
  3. Pair of light weight thermal bottoms.
  4. Fleece trousers
  5. A Gore-Tex trousers Waterproof /breathable might be better extra use.

Trekking boots and foot wear:

Please choose the shoes carefully being own prime consideration. Boots can be low-cut or mid-ankle, but we recommend sturdy sole such as Sportiva, Gore-Tex or any one which should be very comfortable to walk

 

  1. One pair leather or synthetic Sportiva or (Gore-Tex) hiking boots with good ankle support.
  2. One pair cross- trainers, running shoes and /or sandals for Kathmandu and in camp.
  3. Two pair’s warm and heavy poly or wool socks.
  4. Two pairs of liner socks. Polypropylene or wool.
  5. Two pairs lightweight trekking socks, poly or wool.

 

Trekking Rucksack and Sleeping bag:

Your sleeping bags should be kept dry using waterproof stuff sacks, bin-liners or large plastic bags. Sleeping bag (good to –10 to -20 degree) is better.

2-3 pieces of water proof empty sacks to keep your goods warm and dry.

Personal Hygiene/Toiletries

Personal hygiene.

  2. A tubes lip sun cream, 1 large tube skin sun cream (min. factor 30).
  3. One toothpaste /brush set.
  4. One bar soap or hand sanitizer gel/ 1 small synthetic towel.
  5. Hand wipes.

 

First-Aid Kit

Medical supplies. The leaders/Guide will have extensive first- aid kits

Note. Small personal first- aid kit. (Simple and light) Aspirin, first- aid tape, plasters (Band-Aids), personal medications, etc. The leaders will have extensive first- aid kits.

Personal prescription medications. Please let your leader/Guide to know about any medical issues during the trekking if you feel any problem.

Medications are inexpensive and readily available in Kathmandu with no doctor’s prescription if you prefer to check up your health before to start the trekking.

  1. One skin blister repair kit.
  2. One small bottle of anti- diarrhea pills (Imodium).
  3. One small bottle of anti- headache pills.
  4. One small bottle cough and /or cold medicine.
  5. One course antibiotics for stomach infection, available locally at chemist shop or pharmacy with no doctor’s prescription.
  6. One small bottle anti- altitude sickness pills. Diamox. For more about this medication. Regarding the altitude sickness Please consult with guide.
  7. Do not bring sleeping pills. They are a respiratory depressant non compatible with high altitude physiology.
  8. Extra prescription glasses / contact lens. Contact lens wearers, please bring glasses in case of emergency.
  9. Oximeter to check the saturation in blood.
  10. Mint inhaler
  11. One small bottle of water purification tablets or water filter.
