The drive from Kathmandu to our starting point at the foot of the Langtang Valley takes approx 8 hours.  The road follows with a spectacular views of village life of middle hill mountain. Climbing high over the ridges to escape the Kathmandu Valley and providing us with a superb panorama of the Himalaya, including the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the peaks of the Langtang region that we will soon become better acquainted with you. First section drive to Trisuli before quite dirt road to the National park and police checkpost on the edge of the bustling trading town of Dhunche (2030m) and second section gradually down to Syabrubesi (1510m). Overnight in Syabrubesi.

The trail initially crosses the BhoteKosi, flowing down from Tibet, literally a few kilometers away, and then gradually climbs up throuch the sub- tropical forests, teeming with bird- life, to join the trail from Syabru. We then follow the river, climbing through uninhabited forest of oak and rhododendron and may be catching a glimpse of langur monkeys roaming through the trees. We climb along a steep trail to Lama hotel.  Overnight in Lodge.

As we continue climbing there are occasional glimpses of Langtanglirung between the trees. At GhoraTabela (3000m), the trail emerges from the forest. Once there was a Tibetan resettlement project here but now it is a Nepalese army post though it has no permanent inhabitants. The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. There is a monastery which we can visit shortly before arriving at the village of Langtang, the headquarters of the Langtang National Park. The houses of Langtang and its neighbouring villages are of the flat- roofed Tibetan style, surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields of buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips and barley.

The trail climbs gradually through small villages and Yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more extensive. After crossing several small streams and moraines, the trail reaches the settlement at Kyangin by lunch time allowing time to acclimatize and explore the area. It is a dramatic setting, with snow covered peaks surrounding us in all directions.

A day to rest and explore the area.KyangjinGompa is the most important and the largest Gompa in the Langtang valley. The building is not the large, but the location is picturesque. The Gompa follows the traditions of the Nyingma-pa sects and that means Guru Rimpoche, the founder of this oldest school, holds pride of place.

There are a number of trips/day hike that can be made from Kyagjin but most trekkers do KyanjinRi (4440m) or TsergoRi (5033m) or also some people do the long hike towards LangshisaKharka. Walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of LangtangLirung or ascend KyangjinRi (4350m), directly behind the village for a breath – taking panorama of the Langtang peaks.

We walk from KenjingGompa (3850m/12631ft) continue to Yala Base Camp(4,600m/15,091ft) on the rocky and glacial trail. On the way, walking with majestic Himalayan view of Mt. Langtanglirung, Mt.LangshishaRi, Ganchenpo, Naya Kanga ( Ganjala-peak), Cher GoriPeak,You will be greeted by herds of Yaks grazing around Yala Base Camp. Amazing.
