About Namobuddha:

Namo Buddha is a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site located in Kavrepalanchok district of Nepal, about 40 kilometers east of Kathmandu. The site is believed to be the place where Buddha, in one of his previous lives, gave his body to a starving tigress and her cubs, as a selfless act of compassion and generosity.
The main attraction of Namo Buddha is the Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, which was established in 1978 by the 9th Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. The monastery is home to several hundred monks and features a large prayer hall, a stupa, and a meditation center. Visitors can also hike up to the hilltop shrine, where the famous legend of the Buddha and the tigress is believed to have taken place.
Namo Buddha is considered to be one of the three most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal, along with Swayambhunath and Boudhanath. The site attracts many tourists and pilgrims who come to experience the peaceful surroundings and to pay homage to the Buddha’s selfless act of compassion.
