OVERVIEW

Tukuche peak (6,920M/22,704FT) Nepal government official Peak code is TUKU located in the Dhaulagiri 8000ers mountain range just 10km northwest of Dhaulagiri first. This peak was climbed in spring season of 1969 A.D. by Hugh Merrick the first time in its history. For the first time climbers took 4 years to study and select Tukuche peak to make it successful summit. The researcher team found South-west ridge less technical and easier than North-west ridge. Comparatively, Tukuche peak is moderate type of climbs and normally climb in autumn (October, November) and in spring (April, May) season. Although the TUKU peak is just 80 meters below 7000ers peak and the climbing ridge is not steep, it is considered a technical climb which require couple of days acclimatize in thin air before reaching TUKU base camp because of strong windy pass to Tibetan plateau through base of this mountain. Climbers may reach to Tukuche Base camp either through Dhaulagiri I eastern side Beni to Tatopani to Marpha to Yak Kharka to Base Camp or Dhaulagiri I western side Beni to Darbang to Takam to Muna to Italian BC to Japanese BC to Tuku Base camp. One in two outer and wider Dhaulagiri circuit or classical Pokhara-Jomsom/Muktinath route to Marpha then start off the beaten trail to Tukuche peak Base Camp is normal itinerary to climb Tukuche peak.  To summit this peak need two advanced Base Camp, Camp I at the height of 5,600M/18373FT and Camp II on 6,200M/ 20,342FT. Even a very beginner climbers may ascend this mountain just less than 4 week time period. We include enough nights in tended camp over 3500m in off the beaten zone of Hidden valley on the way to Dhampus pass/Thapa pass (5,240 M / 17,192 FT) and Dhaulagiri circuit trekking. To be acclimatized in thin air, we have designed the couple of days trekking schedule starts from low land ‘Tatopani’ to gradually higher land ‘Marpha’ even road pass to Lo-Manthang via Marpha. Caravana route start to climb Tukuche peak from Kathmandu to Pokhara by bus/flight then again by bus to Tatopani for the first day of this Trek. We start to walk through side trekking trail of Pokhara-Lomanthang off road highway and off the beaten trail starts from Marpha to Yak kharka to Tukuche Peak Base Camp and summit the Peak.

After Breakfast first we check all the trekking and Peak climbing equipment and if missing some of trekking/peak climbing gear, we can buy during the sightseeing. Full day sightseeing proceeds to the prominent UNESCO world heritage site to Syambhunath Stupa the Buddhist sanctuary said to be nearly 2000 years old. The hill itself is pleasant place overlooking the entire valley of Kathmandu. The all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha painted in prominent blue atop the dome are visible from long distance from around the Kathmandu city. Then proceed to Kathmandu Durbar Square where can visit the Living GoddesKumari who appear on the balcony of her temple to greet her devotees, Kastamandap temple (constructed after collapsed in earthquake in 25 April 2014), the temple made out of single tree and named Kathmandu as it was known as Kantipur in earlier times. We request you to have an early breakfast and be ready exactly at 06:15 in your hotel lobby; guide will pick up you and transfer to the tourist bus station and drive (approximately seven hours with breaks) through the beautiful river view and Nepalese countryside to reach the Pokhara lakeside. Lunch spot on the way to Pokhara and you will be arrived late afternoon at Pokhara approximately 2:00 o’clock. Pokhara lakeside sites walking around, “front row center” to one of the most beautiful Himalayan panoramas in the world. Overnight: In a Pokhara hotel on BB basis.

After breakfast, we drive to the west of Pokhara to Naudanda to Lumle, to Nayapul to Parbet ‘Kusma’ to Maldhunga to Beni to Tatopani (Hot spring) on the bank of Kali Gandaki River. Today we will have a great scenery of hillside rice field, with the amazing landscape and Annapurna Himalayan view. Our adventure walking begins from Tatopani staying an overnight having a great natural hotwater bath (hot spring). You may have lunch on the way either at Kusma or at Beni Bazar. This scenery and amazing stay in most deepest GeorgeTatopani between two massif 8000ers mountain Mt. Dhaulagrir 8,167M and Mt. Annapurna 8,091M with front view of Mt. Nilgiri 7000ers which gives you inner power and immerse you to walk more.

After Breakfast, We start walking trip just crossing a bridge over Kaligandaki River. Gradually up to the hill, overlooking the valley from uphill the walk is very pleasant in nature. We again cross to a suspension bridge for the night stay at Ghasa.

Today our trek is gradually up through pine and juniper forest. In the bottom of the trekking trail, a huge fast runner River Kaligandaki following with great sound. As we gained the altitude, better to stay at Kalopani.

After Breakfast, we don’t climb today. We walk strait through beautiful pine forest and small mountain village. We just walk 3-4 hour today and reach for camp at Marpha.

We start off the bitten path to Yak Kharka (Yak pasture land) through steep up hill. We enter to hidden valley of Dhaulagiri 8000ers mountain range. We will stay for 10/11 days in such a silence zone.

Overnight in Tended Camp,

Over (3,500M/11,483FT) we need to update our body in thin air means in lower oxygen level. A full day we will read/ write diary/, Lets do Yoda and meditation/, stretch the body, or any other activities you have skilled, Our staff will participate with you, mentally be prepared for high elevation.

We start to ascend after early Breakfast gradually up to Dhampus pass/Thapa pass. We need to ascend almost 1400m/ 4,593Ft to Dhampus Pass 5,240M/17,192FT and gradually descent to TukuchePeak camp 5,150M/16,896FT.

Overnight in Tended Camp,

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Pre-climbing training will be conduct at Tukuche Peak Base Camp (5190m/17,027ft). Our climbing guide trains the techniques of climbing, safety rule at glacier and ways of using and handing climbing gear such as the ice axe, climbing boots, crampons, harness ascender etc. If you are already experienced and well-trained mountaineers then it is not compulsory to take part in training session. Our main aim is to assist and guide the beginners who are willing to climb various peaks considering the safety measures in mind and we assure that it will boost the climbers to increase the confidence and climbing skill. The day will spend hiking to high camp and back to Base camp to prepare mentally/physically for the successful summit.

Final destination of this trip will be an amazing day. We attempt to make a successful summit during this climbing period. The summit day will be a great day to achieve the goal of this trip. We try to be on top as soon early in the morning as possible on summit day for a stunning view of sunrise in the Dhaulagiri Himalayan region. From the summit of TukuchePeak, we can observe the Tibetan plateau along with long Himalayan range. Taking some memorable snap of photos and videos, we return back to Base camp.

The extra contingency day/additional day has added and reserved to make the project successful if any reason like bad weather or our client health condition, we preserved an additional to make the project successful.

The day of summit, start about 03 AM from Camp II(6,200M/ 20,342FT) having breakfast before proceeding to summit the peak. We need to start very early because of strong winds and day sunlight of the mid-day may become obstacle for the successful summit. Fixed rope usually will be 500m to 700m though the length of rope depends on season and the situation of mountain. Normally Tukuche peak does not require the ladder to cross crevasse. A steep snow slop leads us onto the Summit ridge but comparatively beautiful and amazing walk. The 360-degree spectacular Panoramic view of hundreds of snowcapped mountains including Mt.Dhaulagria (8,167M), Mt. Annapurna (8,163Mm), Mt. Nilgiri 7000ers. Snapshots dozens of photographs and incredible videos from the summit than we retrace to the base camp where some of crew of our team are waiting making delicious food and cake to celebrate a happy night on your successful Tukuche peak summit.

Overnight in Tended Camp,

We retrace down the trail from Yak-Kharka (3,900M/12,795FT) to Marpha (2,670M/8,760FT) and continue strait walk to Jomsom (2,743M/8,999FT) for the next day fly back to Pokhara.

We take a spectacular early morning flight along the Kali Gandaki gorge to Pokhara. There are only few flight in this sector Pokhara/Jomsom/Pokhara and all the flights operate only in the morning before 09:00 AM because of strong wind pass through Jomsom valley to Tibetan plateau. The strong wind make very hard to take-off and land-on the small twin otter (STOL) short take-off and landing airplane. The two giant 8000ers Mountain Dhaulagiri 8,176m range and Mt. Annapurna 8,091m range as a border land of Trans-Himalayan region. The deepest Kali-Gandaki George separate two Himalayan range Annapurna and Dhaulagiri and very strong wind blow through this valley.

However, the early morning flight Pokhara/Jomsom/Pokhara is very scenic along the majestic view of Himalaya and terraced landscape with bunch of human settlement.

You will arrive in Pokhara hotel before 10 AM will have enough time for half day sightseeing. The flight to Kathmandu from Pokhara will be 15 to 17 O’ clock.

Today is your leisure day for cleaning, shopping and sightseeing depends in your interest. If you prefer any specific day tour like cycling, One hour Everest scenic flight early in the morning, City tour by car with guide etc… just let us know. Today, a special Nepalese Dinner is arranged in a typical Nepali Restaurant with culture show and dance of different ethnic group of Nepal.
